I am super excited to tell you that I have launched a podcast this week! It’s called Nur So Genderell. My friend Leonie and I have already been working on it for a few months but now we are finally at the point that we can go public with it and launch our first episode.
Nur So Genderell is a pun and translates to something like „Just in genderal“. It’s about gender and feminism in pop culture, politics and society – and it’s in German. So I am very sorry that not all of you will be able to listen to it. But German is my mother tongue and I prefer using it for the podcast.

Leonie, my podcasting partner, and I met in university. She was a journalism student and because journalism was one of my minor subjects we ended up having quite a lot of courses together. I was admiring her from afar for a while but we eventually became friends and bonded over our mutual love for coffee, feminism and great conversations.
Our first episode of Nur So Genderell has been published today and it’s about rape culture in pop culture, more specifically we’re talking about how rape is depicted in music, tv shows and literature. It’s a heavy topic but also very interesting because the depictions and narratives about rape that we see in the media also shape our perception and treatment of the issue in real life.
Then last year, we had to produce some podcasts for a journalism seminar and we ended up liking it so much that we decided to start podcasting for real. Leonie and I have been working on Nur So Genderell for quite a while before we were ready to publish it. And we put a lot of time, effort and hard work into the podcast.
I’m so glad to have Leonie at my side not (only because she knows much more than I do about editing and recording) but also because she is an incredibly kind, cool and interesting person. I really appreciate her ideas, her perspective and input. She is very smart and creative and knows much more about pop culture than I do.

It would mean a lot to me if you supported our new project, Nur So Genderell, by following us on Instagram or Facebook, listening to our first episode or sharing our podcast with your friends and family. Thank you very much!
Do you have any further questions about the podcast or how we launched it? Feel free to ask in the comments!
